Jazz trumpet starts here. Louis Armstrong. They called him Pops or Satchmo but really any name paled in importance to his musical and symbolic invention. Simply put, he did everything a musician can do and he coined the concept of jazz virtuouso. Somewhere in all that hyperbole he was an exceptional player and human being. Born in 1901 which somehow also seems significant.
