Welcome to your trumpet spotlight on BBR Roy “Little Jazz” Eldridge. Roy was born in Pittsburgh, PA and became like a Jackie Robinson of jazz by integrating Gene Krupa’s band and innovating a fast playing style which Dizzy Gillespie morphed into be-bop trumpet. Roy was a super-competitive man who once said “I was just trying to outplay anybody, and to outplay them my way.”
