Ambrose Akinmusire is today’s BBR entry in trumpet week. He’s the youngest and most unproven but in a scant 2 leader albums for famed Blue Note label he’s already shown a combination of chops and taste to make us believe he belongs on our celebration of trumpet greats. His “Imagined Savior…” (double!) lp moves the trumpet leader format forward. Congrats Ambrose.
