Piano week moves from singular genius to multi-faceted genius with today’s keyboarder Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington. Duke was known as much as a composer and band leader cum talent scout as a pianist. But, that shouldn’t obscure his ivory-tickling uniqueness or the grand sweep of his decades of playing the most elegant, hardest swinging piano this side of a Steinway. Posthumously awarded the Pulitzer Prize.  Congrats Duke on batting second in BBR piano week.
