Oscar Peterson takes the spotlight today in BBR piano week. OP was a monster pianist, unfairly reduced to the Canadian Art Tatum. Check out his Verve lp We Get Requests. One thing he had in common with Tatum was that his playing was so full of ideas and technique sometimes bands interfered with him. Simply one of the best to take the piano bench.
