Jaco Pastorius is today’s highlight in BBR bass week. Hearing Jaco’s tone and facility on electric bass for the first time and knowing he’s gone is like that first time you realize your parents are human and not omniscient: you’re sad but you know you have entered a new phase of adulthood. As for the rest of his biographical details we refer you to the excellent documentary Jaco. He ALMOST got the coveted anchor spot but…..come back tomorrow for the man who beat him out.
