Today’s BBR drummer week spotlight falls on Mexico City’s own Antonio Sanchez. Tony is by far the youngest and least accomplished drummer in drum week but by his soundtrack to the amazing movie Birdman alone he belongs. He is also Pat Metheny’s drummer of choice so we feel good about his future and our prescience. He has a series of leader albums for the Cam Jazz label which are worth checking out and he graduated cum laude from the prestigious Berklee School, famous Brown Brothers feeder.
